For Adobe Premiere practice, I edited some clips from 24.
During critique, it was pointed out that some of these shots could have been tightened – and I agree. In particular, when Chloe enters the scene, her entry walk takes up a large amount of time that could be used elsewhere. The audience is left hanging around watching frames that are, in essence, all the same, which could lose attention.
In addition, there were certain spots -the opening scene, Edgar walking away, Chloe walking away- that had alternate takes that would have worked better. The editing could have showed off the boxed-in space, the intimacy of the conversations, the tension so much better had I used the alternate clips.
